Create Space in Your Life

While developing the handout for a presentation on Organizing and Staging Your Home to Sell, I focused my message on creating space. It's important when staging your home to sell that the buyer be able to imagine themselves living there. You do this by de-personalizing the space or rather, by creating space — space so the buyer can imagine their furniture, pictures and families filling their space.

Create Space to Live & Grow

Creating space in other areas of your life is just as important. Personal and

professional change, growth and development also require space to succeed. You need sufficient space to see yourself as you want to be and do the things you want to do. Since I am growing the coaching aspect of my business, where I help people achieve business and personal goals, I wanted to create space in my life and schedule.

I looked at the activities I'm involved with to see if I could free up time there. No. Everything there was important to growing my business or supporting me personally. Then it hit me. The one, huge area I could give up and never miss — my fears, uncertainties and doubts. How much time and energy am I wasting by thinking of what could go wrong or what I might not accomplish.

ASK: What if I succeed? What could go right? What's the next step?

As a response to those fears and doubts, I could reframe them or respond and ask what if I succeed, what could go right, and what's the next step?

Whether you are creating space in your day, your home or your life to develop your business or career, sell your home, or connect with family and friends during the holidays — let go of the fears, uncertainties and doubts so you can have fun and enjoy life!

Quote: We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion. ~unknown~
